Searching for a beta
I was wondering if someone would like to be a regular beta for me.  Right now, I am writing in the Doctor Who fandom and would like someone to look over things (mostly grammar, but if you see something else, just let me know).  Looking over other people's grammar is fine for me; but looking over my own...let's just saw it's sad.

PM me if you are interested!

Prompt Me!
Well, it was a good competition.  I am impressed.  It was a four-way tie until someone broke it by picking Doctor Who.  So that is the fandom I am going with.  Though, being a crossover whore, I will go into the other fandoms too :)

So here is the next question:  What do you want me to write?

I am pretty versatile.  Well, except for the Classic Series - I haven't watched enough of it to write anything from that era, so let's stick to the New Series.

Here is another poll (I can keep track of this better):

So, so sad
I found out from a post over at [info]doctorwho that Elisabeth Sladen, best-know for playing the fantastic Sarah Jane Smith, has passed away.

The article from the BBC Arts and Entertainment site on the news is here.

The article on the official Doctor Who website is here.

This is so sad. I found her character to be absolutely fantastic. Courageous, fearless, caring, and wise - that is what I attributed to her.

The world is so much dimmer now.

1x01 - "Rose" Rewatch
Well, after long last, here is the beginning of my rewatch of Doctor Who.  And of course, the obvious starting point is "Rose".

This wasn't my first intro to the series (that goes to another episode).  Besides the fact that the special effects were kinda cheesy, it was actually a good plot.

Now some of you know that I am not a Rose fan, but I will say that I am fond of her in Series 1.  I can relate to her in the beginning.  Everyone longs for something more in life and seek it out.  And I also admired her curiosity.  Who wouldn't be curious about you were almost killed in the first place?

Even though her screentime was limited, I loved Jackie in this episode.  Her flirting with the Doctor was just epic in my opinion.

And, of course, the Doctor.  I love Eccleston's Doctor.  He was my first Doctor and that's how it ever going to be.  The pain that a viewer can subtly tell is fantastic, and the viewer can tell that he was lonely, even though that he would not admit it.  He was so straightfoward in this episode as well as honest that helped me really connect to the show.

And how the Doctor and Rose worked together was good - not great - but good.  She worked really well with him and helped him see that life is worth living.

As I mentioned before, the effects were kinda cheesy.  I guess from being a sci-fi nut I can tell, but it was not all bad.  The plotline was good and am ready for future adventures!

Debating
Well, I think that I am going to do something stupid, but it should be fun at the same time.

I am thinking about participating in the [info]tardis_bigbang over on LJ. It's for the Doctor Who fandom and I think that it would be interesting to try. It has a 20,000 word minimum limit, but I think that I would be able to handle that.

And if she decided to it again this year, I want to try to do [info]oc_bigbang that [info]dragonsinger moderates over on LJ. I even have a good plot for it!

I do have other writing challenges that I need to work on. I am doing [info]love_bingo (yeah, I know that I am anti-romance, but I am trying to change that); though I have to decide if I am going to write. I do know, I just have to perfect it.

I am also planning on doing [info]story_lottery in the summer. Also working on [info]doctorwho_100, [info]crossovers100, and [info]sci_fi_prompts claims as well as the two I have on here - [community profile] fandom_promptsand [community profile] parthenon. So I shouldn't be too worried. Though I am.

See ya all later!

Oh, the humanity...
I have fallen in love with Series 5.  After watching it several times, I have to admit that the Eleventh Doctor is full of awesome.  Now I can't stop thinking about Eleven.  Of course, it's been mixing with my thoughts of 10.5, so it's very interesting right now in my brain.

I want to write something for Eleven, but I am afraid that I will get his voice wrong.  Well, almost.  I can get the arrogance down, so that should be something.  We'll see in the future.

So I am juggling between 10.5 and Eleven right now.  I'll figure out something soon after I get something concrete down.  And if I do Eleven, I'll definitely have Amy and Rory.  Amy is one that I'm not too fond of, but she is better than most (and some of you know who); but rory is awesome!  So I can't have one without the other.  And I'm not sure about River - I'm too confused about her to have any clear thoughts about her.  But I do know that she's cool.

I love the madman in the box.  Same man, multiple faces.  Gotta love it.

Doctor Who - Letting Go

Title: Letting Go

Author: [personal profile] jedimasterstar

Characters: Ten, Donna
Rating: PG-13 (FRT)
Warnings: None
Spoilers: Only for “Midnight”
Author’s Notes: This is my Christmas gift for juliet316. This takes place after the events of “Midnight”, an episode that scared the crap out of me. I felt that something more needed to be added to this. Just a little piece. Hope you like this, Juliet!

Summary: The Doctor is still having nightmares about Midnight. Can Donna get him to talk?

Results and a Series 3 Poll

Well, the people have spoken, so the two episodes that are going to be rewritten are...

School Reunion and Army of Ghosts/Doomsday.

The second choice really surprised me.  Now I have to figure out a different way Torchwood came into being.  Or come up with a whole new organization all together.

Anyway, I have decided to go ahead and put up a poll for the Series 3 episodes that I can rewrite.  It's going to be up for a week, so next Monday, I'll let everyone know what was decided.

I'm splitting this into two polls.  YOU CAN VOTE ONLY ONE EPISODE PER QUESTION!

Here's a poll for you all
Well, I think I got my series down.  Characters in place, basic premise set - now I need to think of "episodes".  I want to do AUs of two episodes per season starting with Series 2.

Now, I should warn you that this is going to be post-Series 1 with the Ninth Doctor still and no Rose (story about that will be up in a couple weeks).

If you think that this is an interesting idea, participate in the poll.  It will only cover Series 2 for now.

FYI:  The two part stories of the canon series will be treated as one story by me.  More than likely in two parts, but I'll figure it out later.  You can vote for up to two episodes only - with the two-parter stories counting as one.

I left out "Love and Monsters" on purpose.  There is no way I can AU that.

Poll #5346 The Episodes
Open to: Registered Users, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 2

Pick which two you would like to see rewrote for the Ninth Doctor.

Fic Update (12/12/2010)
I have come to an impasse with my writing.  Too many story ideas going through my head and not enough  coming together between them all.

I want to write for the Doctor Who fandom, I just can't find a Doctor to stick with.

I want to write it with the Time Lord Doctor for now, though I will still write Human Doctor one-shots.  But I don't know which Doctor.  It has to be  either Nine, Ten, or Eleven.  And I want to bounce off a canon companion with an original one - to make things a bit more interesting.

So...

Poll #5330 Which One?

Which Doctor do you all think I should do?

Tenth Doctor

And which MAIN companion should I bounce off of? (with Nine and Eleven, some are obvious, but...)

This is for my prompt comm called [community profile] fandom_prompts. I started it out of the need for more prompt comms over here on DW.

My claim is Caryn Hamilton. She is my new OC for the Doctor Who fandom as the very first companion of the Ninth Doctor (so pre-Rose). This is going to be one-shots between the episodes that I am going to be posting. This is just filling in between episodes.

In the middle of everything...
Well, not really.  I am currently in scatterbrain mode between my homework and my writing (my fanfic writing).

I just can't seem to get into anything.  Writer's block is horrible - especially with my homework.

As for my fanfic writing, my A New Path series and everything related to it is down the drain for a while.  Right now, the new idea going through my head is giving Rose a cousin (one of those we have heard about but don't know anything about).  One Tyler that the Doctor feels connected to more and is more comfortable with.

This alsocame from a dream that I had.  Rose was throwing something at me, calling me "cousin", and telling me to stay away from the Doctor.  Of course, I'm not the one to listen anyway.

Of course, I will somehow manage to Tony Stark in there.  No idea how - well, maybe a little - but somehow he'll manage to worm his way into the new series.

Wish me luck in everything!

What?
I just found out that [livejournal.com profile] who_daily listed my story on their daily newsletter.

And the thing is, I didn't even ask them to!  Though I think that since I finally got the nerve to post "A New Path" to [livejournal.com profile] doctorwho is probably how it came to many people's attention.

I feel honored that someone was noticing story.  It encourages me to write more.

Which is just what I am doing.
