Going to see Thor

The movie.  Ever since it came out, I have been wanting to go see it.  The previews look awesome, and some people on my LJ friends list have given it rave reviews.  So, since I finally have day off, I'm going to go see it.  It's a 7pm showing, but it will be worth it.

In other news, I got my final grades back - 1 A and 4 B's with a GPA of 3.42.  That's pretty good - though my GPA went down 0.10 from last semester.  Oh, well.

Mom went back to work this week.  She's still getting back into the swing of things and get her energy back to do it.  But she's doing well.

Also, I made a decision to try to change my diet and get back into my yoga and walk more.  I'm doing this to try and change my lifestyle as well as being there for Mom since she is a borderline diabetic (dad's full-blown diabetic).  She had to change a lot, so I am going to try and do it along with her.  Besides, if I ever develop diabetes, I have a head start.

As fic news, I'm still going through my Tron obsession.  It's driving me nuts.  I got ideas coming out from everywhere.  Right now, I'm trying to consolidate them into something I can write.  I may have something in the next few days, so keep a look out.

And YAY!  CBS renewed CSI: NY for an eighth season.  I was so scared after watching the season finale this past Friday that that would be it.  I'm so happy it's coming back!

That's about it for now.  I'll let you all know what I think of the movie!

So, so sad
I found out from a post over at [info]doctorwho that Elisabeth Sladen, best-know for playing the fantastic Sarah Jane Smith, has passed away.

The article from the BBC Arts and Entertainment site on the news is here.

The article on the official Doctor Who website is here.

This is so sad. I found her character to be absolutely fantastic. Courageous, fearless, caring, and wise - that is what I attributed to her.

The world is so much dimmer now.

And a Happy New Year!
I hope that all my friends on Dreamwidth are having a nice New Year!

Didn't stay up until midnight.  I went to bed around 8pm last night in order to be at work at 6am today.  It was so much fun!  (hear the sarcasm).

Anyway, hope everyone stayed safe last night!  Here's to a new year with all of you!

In the middle of everything...
Well, not really.  I am currently in scatterbrain mode between my homework and my writing (my fanfic writing).

I just can't seem to get into anything.  Writer's block is horrible - especially with my homework.

As for my fanfic writing, my A New Path series and everything related to it is down the drain for a while.  Right now, the new idea going through my head is giving Rose a cousin (one of those we have heard about but don't know anything about).  One Tyler that the Doctor feels connected to more and is more comfortable with.

This alsocame from a dream that I had.  Rose was throwing something at me, calling me "cousin", and telling me to stay away from the Doctor.  Of course, I'm not the one to listen anyway.

Of course, I will somehow manage to Tony Stark in there.  No idea how - well, maybe a little - but somehow he'll manage to worm his way into the new series.

Wish me luck in everything!

College Classes, Fic News, and Life
I decided to give a general update on everything, because later I am gong to finish up a fic and start my homework.

But anyway....

College Classes

I am loving them so far.  Especially my Lord of the Rings class.  But I have a lot of writing this semester, so everything else is on the back burner.  But I will try to keep up with everything.

I am hating my job right now.  As of next week, I have 13 hours.  I can't live on that!  So now I am thinking about looking for a new job.

Also, I am in the process of looking for a college to transfer after this one.  But I can't decide what branch of journalism I should go into.  I can do:

Travel journalism
Political journalism
Environmental journalism
Global journalism
Magazine journalism

and so much more!

My head is probably gong to explode later.

Fic News

I am still copying down part 2 of my Alt!10 fic.  And then I will start on part three and then go on to my LOTR fic.  Just keep looking!

Life Update (8/26/2010)
I am really pissed off.   I mean pissed.

Apparently, someone hacked into my Yahoo account or decided to use my Yahoo e-mail address and use it to start up a World of Warcraft account.  I didn't think much of it at first; but when I got a receipt for an Blizzard WoW store item with a credit card I don't have, I was pissed.  So I sent off an angry e-mail off to the WoW admins to cancel the account.

But what really got me mad is that now I have to watch my credit report more often now and make sure I don't get any unwanted bill about things that I don't have.  So far, my credit report is fine, mostly because everything is expired and I haven't renewed them yet.  I'm just going to close my credit cards.

And I haven't got any bills on any credit cards I supposedly have.

I hate people.

In other news, I have found a Human Doctor community that I like.  It's called [ profile] bluesuit_fic and it's for him in general.  I'm so happy!  I already posted "A New Path" on the community to see how that goes over.

I also joined up in to fic exchanges.

For Criminal Minds - [ profile] cm_exchange
For Doctor Who Secret Santa - [ profile] dwsanta

I figured it would help to get my muse going again.

But if anyone wants me to write a fic for them, let me know!  I'm more than willing to do it!

I'll even put a post up for those who want me to so they can tell me what they want.

College has Begun!

Well, college has officially begun; and boy am I going to be in for a lot of writing.  My Writing Creative Nonfiction alone has six one-page assignments, two long essays, and a really long one towards the end of the semester.  Then I have research papers, book and film reviews, and something else that I don't remember in my other three classes.

Needless to say, my fandom writing is going to sporadic for a while.  I will try to post often, but don't expect much.

Speaking of my fics, my CSI: NY fic is on hold and my CSI: NY/Criminal Minds one has run into writer's block.  My Human Doctor three-parter is coming along nicely.  I just have to transfer the second chapter from paper to computer and get started on the third.  I guess I just like writing him.

My LOTR story ideas are coming along nicely (with some advice from [ profile] malicehaughton).  With my Lord of the Rings class about to start, I may be writing more in that fandom.

Happy Independence Day!!!!

Happy Fourth of July to everyone from the USA!  Hope you all are having fun or are going to have fun today.

As for me, I'm going to eat pizza, work on my original fiction story and my newest fanfiction story, and watch one of the celebrations on TV tonight.  So, yay, I'm pretty boring today.

Not because I don't want to celebrate, I just don't like crowds that much (minor claustophobia).

But I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

Okay, right now my computer is attracting every virus out there.

Luckily, I manage to stop it before anything happens.

So until I can solve this problem, I'm only going to be on the computer once or twice a day - once at the library and for 10 minutes in the evening at home.

But I will keep up with my responsibilities to people on here, so no one worry!
