Questions Meme
-Comment with "Winter is Coming"
-I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
-Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
-Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions. (If you want. Totally optional.)

[personal profile] ravenela gave me these:

1) Who is your most recent original character?

My most recent one is Talia Hayes, an Immortal OFC based in the Highlander universe and will be in several other fandoms.

2) How do you feel about the new Star Wars movies they're developing?

I'm actually pretty excited. Especially if they bring back the characters from the Original Trilogy. It looks like they are. And with J.J. Abrams directing Episode VII, it should be good.

3) What's the best movie you've seen recently?

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. I LOVE this film and I can't wait for the second part!

4) What's the best book you've read recently?

Hm...I have to say The Third Secret by Steve Berry. I love conspiracy theories and the bending of facts.

5) Which is better, chocolate or strawberry?

Chocolate, definitely. Was raised by a chocoholic.

30 Days of Nu-Who - Part 1
I found this meme when I was following [info]caz963's one.  So it is safe to say that I got this off of her.   I just found the meme to be amusing and decided to do it.

I am also doing this in parts instead of days because of my busy schedule.  But I will update this.

Day 1 - Favourite Incarnation of the Doctor

Well, it is rather obvious for me to say this, considering that I have said it multiple times.  He was my first Doctor and will always be my favorite.

But what I like the most about the Ninth Doctor is that mystery, that elusiveness.  He seemed so real.  The pain and anguish made him seem to be so...human.  Though he wasn't; but he was going through something that many of us could never relate to.  And that made me want to just hug him.  He also kept to himself alot, not wanting anyone to get too close, though his friendship with Rose did help him a bit.  But I think it was that mystery that made a bit more endearing to me.

He also was so alien.  And that was cool.  He didn't want to connect to humanity at times (which is probably why I am loving Eleven), but he never gives up hope that they will do better.  I can relate to that at times.

I got this off of [ profile] failegaidin.

Ask me my Top Five Whatevers. Fannish or literary or otherwise. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really! Fandoms, ice cream flavours, cartoon moments, women in my fandoms, OTPs, ideal holiday destinations, goals for the future, celebrity crushes, books I wish would be made into movies, love songs. And I will answer them all in a new post (or in comments).

My Delayed Overview of the 2009-2010 TV Season
I technically swiped this off of [ profile] strangevisitor7, who is a TV addict (and proud of it).  I found this meme in her journal (I was looking for something to do as I take a break from writing) and found this.

I am focusing on the 2009-2010 TV season as I watched in the US.

1) Favorite Show CSI: NY!!!!  This season was awesome!  I loved the storyline with Don trying to move on after Angell's death - it was very poignant when Mac confronted him.  Also, Mac was awesome this season, as well as Stella (in my mind she will never leave).  Now they need to hurry to bring on the new season so I can find out what happened to Danny and Lucy.

2) Favorite New Show:   NCIS: Los Angeles.  Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J are hot and fantastic.  But I adore Hettie (played my Linda Hunt).  She rocks!  The season was so explosive!  I never knew what was going to happen next.

3) Favorite show discovered on DVD:  I didn't discover anything new on DVD this season.  But I am in the works of getting my hands on the Magnificent 7 seasons.

4) Hardest Cancellation:  Didn't have one.  Those they cancelled I wasn't too fond of to begin with.

5)Show that disappointed:   NCIS.  I love this show, but what disappointed me was the way they turned Tony into a real jerk.  Even my mom is beginning to hate him.

6)Show that pissed me off:  The Mentalist.  Patrick Jane is becoming a bit to cocky and arrogant.  I loved him in the first season, but this season pissed me off.

7) Show that surprised me:  CSI: Vegas.  The past few seasons were a bit bland.  But since they casted Laurence Fishbourne, it has gotten interesting again.  Must be the new blood.

30 Days of Writing Meme - Day 30
It's the last day for this meme!  So sad.

30. Final question! Tag someone! And tell us what you like about that person as a writer and/or about one of his/her characters!

Okay, so I am cheating and mentioning quite a few.  Also, they are all from LJ.

In no particular order:

[ profile] failegaidin writes a wonderful OC as well as having a easy writing style and a wonderful plot line.
[ profile] ithildyn does a great combining several different fandoms. She makes them so believable and fun to read.
[ profile] malicehaughton is the type of writer that is not afraid to write what she thinks. Her Doctor Who stories are wonderful and makes one think.
[ profile] strangevisitor7 also does a great combiningseveral fandoms into something believable. Her "Immortal Dean" Series is a wonderful example, as well as her "Aces Immortal" series (she shares this with [ profile] ithildyn

I enjoy reading their stories multiple times.  They are that good.

30 Days of Writing Meme - Day 29
29. How often do you think about writing? Ever come across something IRL that reminds you of your story/characters?

ALL THE TIME!  My imagination is active 24/7.  Even during work!  I even dream stories.

I haven't come across anyone that reminded me of my characters yet.

And the last one tomorrow )

30 Days of Writing Meme - Day 26
26. Let's talk art! Do you draw your characters? Do others draw them? Pick one of your OCs and post your favorite picture of him!

I don't draw them.  And others don't draw them for me.  I pick actresses or actors to represent them.

For Stephanie, I choose Evangeline Lily (I may post a pic later).  And for Haidee, it's Australian Rachael Taylor.

Not yet.  My OC Stephanie (from CSI:NY) is going to have one - I just haven't written it yet.  More than likely a cat.

30 Days of Writing Meme - Day 24
24. How willing are you to kill your characters if the plot so demands it? What's the most interesting way you've killed someone?

If the story demands it, I will kill off a character.  Even a popular on if it would mean something to a story.  Though I would be very sad to do so.

I haven't killed anyone yet, so I don't have an interesting way to kill them.  Come back later.

30 Days of Writing Meme - Days 22-23

22. Tell us about one scene between your characters that you've never written or told anyone about before! Serious or not.

I am not that far in my writing yet so I really can not answer this.

23. How long does it usually take you to complete an entire story—from planning to writing to posting (if you post your work)?

I usually do one-shots that can probably be pooled together to make one big story.

But I think that my new story Daughter of the Sun is going to be a while.  I am trying to write this in between everything else.

17. Favorite protagonist and why!

Professional:  Robert Langdon - I love Dan Brown's writing.  And I really enjoyed and rooted on Langdon.  I guess I love the geeky hero types.

Original and Fanfic:  Uh, two so far...

Haidee - my Trojan character.  Though I have not posted much on her, she's becoming quite the character.  Right now, she is more of a tragic character but has potential to grow.

Stephanie - I haven't posted anything on her yet.  But right now she is my OC in the CSI: NY fandom.  I am going to post something on her soon, just not yet.

16. Do you write romantic relationships? How do you do with those, and how “far” are you willing to go in your writing? ;)

I have been known to.  I'm not very good at it though.  When I do them though, on how "far" I go...I just imply it.  Not my cup of tea.

30 Days of Writing Meme - Day 15
15. Midway question! Tell us about a writer you admire, whether professional or not!

Professional:  J.R.R. Tolkien - I absolutely love to read his books.  All of them.  I think I've read every thing of his at least...too many times to count.  My Cornerstone Class for college is going to be primarily working out of his books!  I love it!

Fanfic:  Actually, I have several that I tend to read more than once.  And there all on LJ, coincidentally enough.

In no particular order:

[ profile] malicehaughton - She's basically the main one in the Doctor Who fandom that I read at the moment.  She has a wonderful writing style and characterization (especially with Rose and the Doctor).
[ profile] strangevisitor7 - She and [ profile] ithildyn have gotten me into the Magnificent 7 fandom as well as with her Immortal Dean Series.
[ profile] ithildyn - like I said above, she and [ profile] strangevisitor7 have gotten me into the Magnificent 7 fandom as well as with her Iron Man stories,
[ profile] failegaidin - I love her Hotch/OC story she is writing right now.
[ profile] onthetardis - She is on a roll with her Ten/Donna stories that are so fun and suspenseful to read.

14. How do you map out locations, if needed? Do you have any to show us?

When I do mythological settings, I tend to use it's real-life equivalent to coordinate my locations.  And I don't have one to show you.
